3 Day Samburu Flying Safari

This three-day Flying Samburu Safari is ideal for visitors who want to visit Samburu Game Reserve but don't want to spend the 6 to 7-hour road trip from Nairobi. Instead, we can offer a flight package Safari that includes a 1.5-hour flight from Wilson Airport in Nairobi to Samburu. The flight is on a light aircraft that can seat between 15 and 40 passengers depending on the airline and passenger load. When you arrive in Samburu, a Driver-Guide and vehicle will be waiting for you to begin your safari. Passenger baggage is restricted to 15 kilos per person. These fly-in safaris in Kenya are typically conducted as group tours, which means that your Safari vehicle will not be private.

Nairobi - Samburu National Reserve

Transfer to Wilson Airport for your scheduled flight to Samburu in the morning. Your checked baggage allowance is strictly limited to 15 kilograms. Board your flight to Samburu - flight time is around one hour: Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred from the airstrip to your overnight Lodge / Camp in a 4x4 safari vehicle by the Lodge's Driver guide. Proceed to the lodge for lunch and some downtime. Later in the afternoon, go on a safari game drive to explore the outlying areas of the Samburu and witness its wonderful animals. Return to the lodge in time for dinner that evening.

Full day Samburu National Reserve

Today, you'll need to get up early for your 6.15 a.m. Safari game drive, during which you'll witness even more of the endemic Northern species, such the Gerenuk (Twiga gazelle), Beisa Oryx, Reticulated Giraffe, Somali ostrich, and Grevy's Zebra. Leopards are frequently seen around dusk. Samburu is also an ornithological haven, with many birds, including native species like the Palm Nut Vulture and the Vivacious Dove. The ideal times to see animals are early in the morning and late in the afternoon. Return to the Lodge for a leisurely breakfast - the rest of the morning is at your leisure. The resort features a swimming pool but also provides a choice of add-on activities, such as nature walks and a visit to a Samburu village [Optional activities such as Samburu Village Visit and Nature walks are available at an additional cost - please enquire with us]. After lunch, go on a mid-afternoon safari game drive to learn more about the reserve. By the evening, return to the Lodge.

Enjoy your breakfast and then check out this morning. The good times in the jungle have come to an end, which is unbelievable but true. Say goodbye to your excellent camp manager and team, then go to the local airstrip for your planned flight back to Nairobi. But not empty-handed. Photographs - a record of the memorable moments you've had on this journey – are with you to immortalize the experience. Our tour guide driver will meet you at Wilson Airport and transport you to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your international journey.
